WOOSE, WOOSIE or WIZARD?

Future wars will not be about bombs and bullets but about hackers and cyber-criminals stealing valued assets -- with no response from Local, State or Fed authorities. Let's get smart and use brains and ballots to improve laws.

 

IMPROVE laws -- so criminals are NOT protected:

> Jurisdiction: Trained Police Depts (PDs) are first line of Cyber-security -- to trace IP addresses to owners. Under $100,000 hacks get PD attention. $100,000 or more gets Fed attention.

 

> Email Records: Reverse email lookup by PDs, with help from email service provider, identifies name and address of hacker. A notarized complaint gets process started, with simplified Court Order/Subpoena.

 

> IP Records: Bitcoin wallets and emails have associated IP addresses. Reverse IP lookup by PDs, with help from service providers, identifies name and address of hacker. Notarized complaint starts process.

   >> Record Retention: Laws need to be updated so that records for IP addresses, email addresses and phone numbers are retained for at least three years -- including records after a company merger.
