Feds and Internet Crime Investigation => IC3 and NW3C are starting points.

 

There are many Fed initiatives for Internet Crime, and (sadly) many hacks of Fed sites as noted below.

> FBI: National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force, Cyber Task Forces, iGuardian, InfraGard: Protecting Infrastructure, National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance, Cyber Action Team. FBI hacks.

 

> IRS: Cybercrime Investigation Team, Criminal Investigation. IRS hacks.

 

> DHS: US Secret Service, Cyber Crimes Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, Cyber Crimes Center, Law Enforcement Cyber Reporting. DHS hacks.

 

> DOJ: Computer and Intellectual Property Crimes. DoJ on hacking back.

 

There's no measure of effectiveness for a Fed investigation initiative. A measure of effectiveness to consider -- hacked value returned for tax dollars spent.
